Preservation, packaging, packing, labeling, and marking (Civil Agencies). Lumber purchased for civil agencies shall be prepared for delivery in accordance with American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) Standard
D-3951, Standard Practice for Commercial Packaging.
Preservation, packaging, packing, labeling, and marking (DoD). Lumber purchased for overseas Department of Defense (DOD) consignees shall be prepared for delivery in accordance with the applicable sections of Military Specification MIL-L-14362, Lumber, Unitizing and Loading of. Lumber purchased for DoD consignees within the continental United States shall be prepared for delivery in accordance with ASTM D 3951 except that each unitized load shall be additionally marked with the weight and cube.
Notes.
Purchasers should specify type, species and grade, dimensions (size), degree of seasoning, moisture content, surfacing, treatment, and quantity required.
